As much as I want to pretend it is not really happening, winter is coming (insert Ned Stark here for my Game of Thrones people).
When looking for coats I generally tend to stay neutral in color that way they can be worn with every outfit and to multiple occasion types. This is just my personal opinion, also that does not mean I haven’t ever had any fun colored coats or don’t think you should either. But, a good coat can be an investment and if you don’t think you will wear a bright pink coat very often (yes, this is the fun colored coat I purchased) then I probably would not invest in it. As much as I love my bright pink wool coat I rarely wear it.
When I am looking for a coat I have my “go to” stores, J.Crew is always great, Nordstrom, Lord & Taylor, Macy’s and Banana Republic to name a few. I have also done really well finding great deals on coats at TJ Maxx and Marshalls.
I am going to link a few different styles, there is definitely something for everyone!

As I said earlier, a good coat can be an investment. Living in the North East it is essential to have good quality coats to keep you warm for all the snow, rain and wind we have in the low temperatures throughout the winter.
A good coat should last you multiple seasons – this is also why I tend to stay neutral in color when picking a coat.
Lastly, always check multiple retailers when you find a coat you like for price differences and sales/promos. Also, make sure to sign up for EBates and use a store that does cash back through them when you are ready to purchase!
Let me know in the comments which of these coats I have shared you love!
